http://www.engvid.com/ A writing lesson for absolute beginners! Here are four very basic rules you must follow when writing simple paragraphs. Learn the basics -- capitals, indentation, line spacing, and more. Then take the quiz: http://www.engvid.com/how-to-write-a-basic-paragraph/ TRANSCRIPT Hello. Do you know how to write a basic paragraph? This is not only for ESL students. This is for everyone around the world, even if you speak English, even if you don't speak English. This is a very, very beautiful, basic lesson on how to write small, short, beautiful paragraphs. "How to Write a Basic Paragraph". Now, I also want you to be very careful. This is not how to write a 200-word essay for your university exam. We don't have enough time in the world for me to teach you that, and I probably forget. So this is, very simply, how to write a basic English paragraph. One, two, three, four rules. Rule No. 1 is: Indent, indent. What does "indent" mean? Indent, basically, means -- I learned this when I was a child -- you take your finger. You can have a big finger, a small finger -- I don't care. You take your finger or two fingers, and you make a little space like so. This is called an "indentation" or "indent". So "indent" means you leave a space at the very first line of the paragraph. And that's it. You do not leave a space at any other lines in the paragraph, only the first line. So it's very important that you only indent the first line of your paragraph like so. Okay. The next thing that you have to do is you have to use a capital letter at the beginning of every sentence. Now, the word that I've written is "I". Another rule in English is that every single time you write "I", it must be a capital. So I'm going to write an example sentence for you to illustrate what I mean: "I am a teacher." Okay? This is one sentence. So rule No. 3: At the end of my sentence, I must use a period. A "period" is a dot, if you'd like. So "I am a teacher." So what I'm going to do is my next sentence... I'm going to begin it with a capital letter. "My" -- so I want to say, "My name -- My name is Ronnie." So what I've done: Rule No. 1, indent. Rule No. 2, you have to use a capital letter at the beginning of every new sentence. Rule No. 3, you're going to use a period at the end of each sentence so that the person reading your beautiful paragraph knows when to stop and take a break. For example, if I did not have a period here, I'd say, "I'm a teacher my name is Ronnie." You need to break up your ideas. So one sentence has one thought and one period. "I am a teacher. My name is Ronnie." Next one. No. 4. I see this in a lot of students' writing. The two basic things about a paragraph are the form and the content. The form is the most important. The form is the indentation. And don't use point form. Do you know what "point form" is? If you're typing something on Word or on an email, "point form" is also called "bullets", which [makes shooting sounds]. So "bullet" means you would put each new sentence on a new line. So if I was to write this: "I'm a teacher", then I would put my next sentence here. This is not how to make a paragraph. This is "point form". So this is a bad paragraph. What I'm going to do is I'm going to write until I almost reach the end of the page. Don't write past the end of the page because then you're writing on the desk and it gets messy. So "I am a teacher. My name is Ronnie. I live -- so I'm going to use up all of my line until the end -- I live in Canada." What would you like to know about Canada? "Canada is very cold." In the winter. So as you can see by my example, I only stop my sentence at the end of my paper. I don't use each sentence on each line. So four basic things to remember when you're writing a basic English paragraph. The first one is: Indent the first line of your paragraph only. Use a capital letter at the beginning of each new line or each new sentence. And use a period at the end. Also, don't forget: Don't use point form. "I am a teacher. My name is Ronnie. I live in Canada. Canada is very cold. Go to 'Subscribe' on YouTube so you can find more great lessons like this." Goodbye.

Learning how to flirt is a skill you can learn and develop... it just takes practice, time and confidence. There is a fine line between coming across as charming & cute or looking like a potential underwear sniffer. Alpha starts with the real world perspective- flirting with a REAL person in front of you. Technology has changed the game, so at the end of this video, a super new app is discussed. Aaron Marino of alpha m. says you suddenly spot a hottie and you want to make their acquaintance. The first step is to see if there's a ring. Next, make eye contact and catch their eye. Keep glancing in their direction. Don't just stare. Be subtle with little glances. Then use a smirk, head-nod, and look away. Go about your business. When you catch their eye again, give them the grill. Give them the smile like, "You caught me." Now is time to be bold by introducing yourself. Simply walk up and say hello & introduce yourself. Don't freeze. Be prepared with the follow-up statement or question. Alpha sees a compliment as a great follow-up. There's an art to it, so refer to The Art of Complimenting by Aaron Marino. Compliments make someone more likable. The compliment should not be sexual in nature. The key now is not to wear out your welcome. Know when to exit. If you are going to see them again, end the conversation and pick it up next time. If you aren't sure if you'll see them again, ask them for their number. What is the worst thing that can happen? They can say no. If they are hesitant or uncomfortable, leave. Don't keep trying to sell yourself. If you seem desperate, it's as bad as seeming insecure. We aren't born being good at flirting. The more you do it, the more comfortable you become. This newly revised app, Hot or Not, is for single people to connect. After registering, the app shows you single people in your area. You can go through and click 'hot or not' and if you match with someone, you can interact with them. Check out the links below for Android and iPhone.

The 10 best performing stocks of 2017. We are going to use the best performing stocks on the S&P 500 index in 2017 (As of June 14th). 1. Vertex Pharmaceuticals Inc 66.27% This is an American pharmaceutical company. Recently, shares soared after the company said two phase 3 trials for its cystic fibrosis treatment showed positive results. Biotech stocks like Vertex can be very volatile, so price swings like this are not uncommon. 2. Activision Blizzard Inc 61.17% This company develops and publishes video games for consoles, personal computers, social platforms and mobile devices. Activision was up big in May after the company announced first quarter earnings results that blew past management's forecast on both the top and bottom lines. This was largely credited to the success of Overwatch, which has become the 8th billion dollar franchise in Activision’s portfolio. Call Of Duty: WWII is being released in November 2017, this should be another huge success for them. 3. Wynn Resorts Ltd 56.24% This is a developer and operator of high end hotels and casinos. The past few years have been extremely challenging for this gaming company, but it appears that Wynn will finally be able to generate growth from it’s massive capital investments in recent years. This is a capital intensive business to be involved with. 4. CSX Corp 50.99% CSX is a Class I railroad that owns about 21,000 route miles of rail. Recently, Hunter Harrison took the reins as CEO and this sent the stock into an uptrend. Harrison has a track record of turning railroads around, including Canadian National and Canadian Pacific. CSX also delivered strong numbers for the first quarter of 2017. 5. Arconic Inc 49.51% This is a company that specializes in lightweight metals engineering and manufacturing. The stock rally is largely fueled by a change in management as CEO Klaus Kleinfeld stepped down. The former CEO was blamed for the lagging stock performance as a result of inefficient capital spending. 6. Lam Research Corp 47.56% This is an American corporation that engages in the design, manufacture, marketing, and service of semiconductor processing equipment used in the fabrication of integrated circuits. Lam research stock recently hit an all time high in June. Strong earnings and an overall interest in semiconductor and technology stocks have fueled this rally. 7. Autodesk Inc 45.32% Autodesk is a software corporation that makes software for the architecture, engineering, construction, manufacturing, media, and entertainment industries. Recently, Autodesk beat analyst estimates for both revenue and earnings by wide margins, and its guidance for the second quarter compared favorably to expectations. Autodesk is transitioning its business model to subscriptions, with the complete phaseout of license sales set for the second quarter of 2017. 8. Micron Technology Inc 43.89% Another semiconductor production company. Chip stocks like Micron have been hot stocks to buy in recent months. Subscribe to www.talkingbass.net for more free online bass lessons and downloads The PDF of lesson material is available here: http://www.talkingbass.net/walking-bass-lines-chord-tones/ This is the second free online bass lesson in the Walking Bass series by Mark J Smith for TalkingBass. It's a long lesson so here's an index for anyone needing to move to certain areas: 02:00 - Root Note Targeting 06:50 - Major 7, Minor 7 and Dominant 7 Arpeggios 10:09 - Arpeggios through the chord progression 12:34 - The Three Fingering Patterns for each Arpeggio (1st, 2nd, 4th finger) 16:47 - New fingerings through the progression 19:56 - Extending the patterns within a position 34:25 - Constructing the line This lesson is the first look into how we construct the actual lines and starts with a primer on Arpeggios or Chord Tones. Chord Tones should be the first stop on the road to learning how to play Walking Bass Lines because they contain the most important material. When we see a chord progression, the chords are provided so they are our first clue as to what melodic building blocks are available. Scales can be deduced from the progression by knowing a little functional harmony but chords are right there on the chart so it's imperative that we learn them. This free online bass lesson provides a quick primer on the maj7, minor 7 and dominant 7 chords. How they are built and how we can learn them over a larger area. We often become stuck in a small confined box shape within one octave when we learn arpeggios. This Walking Bass Lines lesson shows you how to break out of those shapes and move freely around the neck. The lesson also shows how to approach the construction of a Walking Bass Line on the fly. We target the root notes or other chord tones and then simply decide on a journey up or down. Once we know which direction we want to take we can simply move through the arpeggio patterns we've learned. This is a quick a and simple approach to creating Walking Bass Lines. The next online bass lesson on How To Play Walking Bass Lines will cover scales and how we can use them to weave a Walking Bass Line within a more confined area. They can also be used in conjunction with larger arpeggio patterns. These Free Online Bass Lessons are released weekly so subscribe for updates and visit www.talkingbass.net for a complete lesson map and all the downloadable lesson material.
